Office of Events COVID-19 Update
As announced in a letter to the community on March 11, 2020:
“Effective Saturday, March 14th and until further notice, all non-essential (i.e., unrelated to core academic or operational functions) events, activities, and gatherings of over 25 attendees will be canceled, postponed, or transitioned to virtual formats.
Upcoming essential events, such as Commencement and related activities and festivities, are being considered on a case-by-case basis, and their status will be communicated as soon as a decision has been made. We expect such decisions before the end of March.”
To that end, we are canceling all reservations of events with an attendance of 25 or more attendees that occur within the next thirty days (through Monday, April 13). Events beyond that date will be assessed on a weekly basis based on available information about the pandemic.
MICA’s Office of Events is charged with scheduling, coordinating, managing, and supporting all events on campus. The office works closely with every department, division, and program to ensure that events reflect MICA’s core values to all guests and community members in attendance. Additionally, the office works with outside clients who rent MICA spaces for their events, and the office works directly with these clients to create a memorable experience at MICA.

This includes reviewing, approving, and managing all campus locations (except MICA Place and the Film Centre). Within 25Live, the office also handles all room conflicts and negotiation of spaces, room updates, and user training.
