Named in honor of trustee emeritus George L. Bunting, Jr., the Bunting Center is home to Decker Library, Pinkard Gallery, Java Corner, MICA Postal and Print Center, and a full student service center.
Housing Decker Library and Pinkard Gallery, as well as MICA Postal and Print Center on the ground floor, the Bunting Center's classroom space on the third and fourth floors is mostly dedicated to Humanistic Studies classes. A full student service center with offices for Student Affairs, Student Accounts, Enrollment & Advising and International Affairs is housed on the second floor along with Java Corner, a café serving light fare and beverages during daytime hours. Additional offices on upper floors include Human Resources and Technology.
The Bunting Center is named in honor of the contributions of George L. Bunting, Jr., a long-time MICA trustee and former president and CEO of Noxell, which has included CoverGirl and Noxema among its product lines. Among other efforts, Bunting chaired the Board of Trustees search committee that recommended the appointment of Fred Lazarus IV as MICA President. Bunting is a trustee emeritus, an honorary degree recipient, and gave MICA the largest gift in its history, $10 million, with his wife Anne in 2011.
