Guidelines
MICA.edu and its CMS were built and configured to pass WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility guidelines. Many of the guidelines in the specification are covered, at least in part, by the design, layout, and code of the website (Guidelines 1.3, 1.4, 2.1, 2.2, 2.4, 3.2, 4.1, 4.2).
CMS Users at MICA should consider the following WCAG 2.0 Guidelines when creating and inputting content to MICA.edu via the BigTree CMS:
Guideline 1.1: Provide text alternatives for all non-text content.
For content such as images, video, and audio, a descriptive, screen reader-friendly text alternative to the content must be provided.
Guideline 1.2: Provide synchronized alternatives for multimedia.
For multimedia (audio and video), captions must be included in both pre-recorded and live media.
Transcripts of audio and video are also helpful for prerecorded video and audio.
Guideline 2.3: Allow users to avoid content that could cause seizures due to photo-sensitivity.
If using flashing content, refer to Guidelines 2.3.1 and 2.3.2.
