Determine Your Need and Internship Structure
First determine what role your intern will take, and create a position description, similar to that of a job. The description should include requirements for applicants, application instructions and contact information. Determine the structure the internship will take, who will supervise the intern and what schedule you will expect an intern to keep. You will also want to make sure that the intern has office space and any resources they will need to work for you (computer, desk, software, tools, etc.)

Collect and Review Applications
Students will contact you directly, if they are interested in the internship opportunity, utilizing the application method you specfied in your internship posting. You will be able to review applicants and hire an intern that you feel is an appropriate fit.
Complete a Learning Contract with Your Intern
Once you have made an agreement with a MICA student intern, they will be asked to complete a digital Learning Contract to solidify the internship. The intern's supervisor will be required to approve this contract through our www.MICAnetwork.com system. The Learning Contract must be approved by the internship site, the Career Development Office, and the student's department chairperson before the student is allowed to begin working.
