Fletcher Mackey currently teaches in the First Year Experience, Painting and Community Arts M.F.A. programs at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD.
After receiving a MFA from the California Institute of the Arts, he has worked with a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to creativity. He was an Associate Professor at Texas Southern University, visiting lecturer at Rice University and the Korean National University of Arts in Seoul, Korea. He worked extensively in Houston, Texas in civic and public art development and as the Cultural Program Director at Project Row Houses. Several permanent outdoor installations of his work can be seen throughout Houston. Most recently he has worked as a participating artist and advisor for the Black Male Identity project in Baltimore City.
