She graduated from Towson University's Master of Arts in Teaching Program after dancing professionally with the Dayton Ballet Company and then earning her B.S in Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland. Alongside nine of her middle school students in Baltimore City, she founded The Youth Dreamers, Inc., in 2001. This youth-led non-profit organization did all the work to build Baltimore's only youth-run youth center with a mission to decrease violence after school by employing and serving youth in enriching youth-led programs. She has been an adjunct teacher in Towson University's Arts Integration Institute, the Maryland Institute College of Art's MFA in Community Arts Program, and the University of Maryland's MCERT Program, in addition to coaching in the University of Maryland's Masters in Teacher Leadership with a focus in Arts Integration. She is currently the Education Director at Young Audiences of Maryland.
