The work considers interaction and the environment, and each work investigates different facets of communication in public installation, collective storytelling, and interactive projects. His projects have been funded by grants from The Flint Public Art Project, International Society of Electronic Arts, Maryland State Arts Council, Baltimore Museum of Art, NYSCA, NYFA, Baltimore City Office of Promotion and the Arts, and University of Michigan among others. Joe earned his B.A. and M.A. in Composition form Radford University, and his M.F.A. in Electronic Art from Rensselaer.
