NDSR Art Residency

Decker Library was awarded a grant to host a resident from the National Digital Stewardship Residency in Art program. Cristina Fontánez Rodríguez is the resident from July 2018 through July 2019. The focus of her residency is to re-evaluate how Decker is acquiring, preserving, and providing access to graduate theses by MICA students.

The Art of Digital Stewardship: Content, Context, and Structure

As the culminating event for the National Digital Stewardship Residency for Art Information (NDSR Art), the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) hosted The Art of Digital Stewardship: Content, Context, and Structure. During this symposium, NDSR Art residents from MICA's Decker Library, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Small Data Industries presented possible solutions for the acquisition, preservation, and access of digital art and art information, from preserving born-digital documentation of the museum experience to working with at-risk artists' archives.
