We encourage all of our students to join MICA's NAEA Student Chapter. Many of our alumni are active members, making presentations, attending conferences, and writing for publications. Our college faculty attend national conferences and have a strong presentation record. Over time, faculty have held various leadership positions in the organization and served on editorial committees and task forces. Maryland's Art Education Association (MAEA) is affiliated with the NAEA, which means that when a member joins one organization, they are automatically a member of the other. The MAEA holds annual conferences in the fall and our faculty, alumni, and students are active members, often presenting at the state conference.
