Juror's Statement

It's 2019 and sometimes it seems like the world is on fire. International news reports tell of unprecedented climate change, widespread political unrest, entrenched discrimination, and a global refugee and migrant crisis. Deciding where to place one's energy and resources can be overwhelming in the face of so much need. But people are still making art. Through art we process experiences, share our truths, and imagine the world we want to live in. The work in this exhibition is created by your colleagues, neighbors, administrators, and friends. Here you can catch a glimpse of what MICA is made of.
