Peer Career Advisor (PCA)

General Purpose

Peer Career Advisors (PCA's) are undergraduate and graduate students who provide pivotal services for the Joseph Meyerhoff Center for Career Development. PCA's hold their position for one academic year, and sometimes continue into multiple years. This is discussed and decided mutually during an end of year review. 

Summary of Essential Functions

PCA's will assist in creating Career Development projects, resources or programs. PCA's are trained in the basics of Career Development topics that are frequently asked by students, and typically work 4-6 hours per week. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Represent the Career Development Office as a Student Ambassador

  • Engage students and provide 1 on 1 career counseling sessions

  • Plan programs, workshops and presentations

  • Assist with major events (e.g. Internship + Career Fair, Design & Media Reviews & Fine Art Reviews)

  • Create career resources and outreach campaigns 

Time Commitment

4-6 hours per week

Conditions of Employment

Attend all required trainings:

  • PCA Specific Training - TBD
  • Joint Leadership Training - TBD

Compensation

$750 stipend per semester

Hiring Timeline
