General Purpose
The work study role work at the front desk of Residence Life Department Office to provide assistance to the MICA residential community.
Summary of Essential Functions

Must work a minimum of two shifts per week

Provide customer service through issuing mail and being the first problem solvers in the on campus Residence Life communities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Serve with a high customer service practice

Assist with all front desk needs day to day of the Residence Life Office

Create a collaborative environment with students, Residence Life staff and campus partners
-
Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of: Customer Service and professionalism principles

Skills: Must have prior experience of leadership skills

Ability to: Be assertive, consistent, good decision-makers and excellent communicators
Minimum Qualifications
-
Education: Must currently be enrolled at MICA at a student and must be in good judicial and academic standing, maintaining a 3.0 GPA throughout the academic year while on staff.

Experience: Must have prior experience of leadership skills

Conditions of Employment
- Conditions: Background Check
- Unusual Circumstances related to position (ie. essential personnel, require travel, serve in an “on-call” capacity, work evenings and/or weekends, blackout periods, etc.) Varies based on scheduled shifts; no more than 40 hours per week (80 hours per two week pay period). Each desk assistant is responsible for working a minimum of two shifts per week. Failure to work a minimum of two shifts per week without prior approval from the front desk operations graduate assistant may result in termination.
