Mark Augustine researches, makes drawings, and teaches about identity, architecture, and urban spaces. His professional interests include content-based ELL instruction, curriculum development, and critical pedagogy.

Mark is a specialist in English Language Learning. Mark has exhibited his drawings in Chicago and was co-chair of a College Art Association panel in 2015 focusing on language learning and instruction in art and design colleges and universities. He was a Lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 2012-2015, teaching in the Liberal Arts and Contemporary Practices departments. He has also taught ESL courses at the Illinois Institute of Technology and the University of Illinois at Chicago. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts in French and Francophone Studies from Case Western Reserve University (2008), a Master of Fine Arts in Studio from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2011), and a Master of Arts in TESOL/Applied Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2013).
