She resides in Baltimore, New York, and Seoul and is a faculty member at MICA, teaching in the departments of Foundation; Art History; Language, Literature, and Culture; and Interactive Media. She was also the founder and director of the summer study abroad program MICA Korea that was held each summer in Seoul, Korea between 2004-7.
Cheon is a Doctor in
Cheon's artwork range from interactive media, video, installation, and performance and merges her artistic practice with theoretical interests. Cheon has exhibited her artwork nationally and internationally with invitational solo exhibitions at the C.Grimaldis Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland in 2008; Insa Art Space, Arts Council, Seoul, Korea in 2005; and the Lance Fung Gallery, New York in 2002.
She is currently working on a book on shamanism and cyberspace read through a postcolonial, performance studies, and gender theory perspectives. Her current artistic research includes looking at racism in Asian nations found in images of hatred and popular culture.
