An alumnus of MICA, Jonathan holds an M.F.A. from the Mount Royal School of Art. Latiano has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in cities including New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC and London, England, and his work has been featured regularly in local, national and international art publications.
In 2013, he won the prestigious Mary Sawyers Baker Prize in Art, which led his first solo museum exhibition at the Baltimore Museum of Art. The crux of Latiano's artwork lies within the greyer notions of the physical world and our ability to abstractly place ourselves within it. The corresponding disciplines of his studio practice and career as an educator form a symbiotic relationship within his artistic practice.
Before joining the full-time faculty in the General Fine Arts department at MICA, he taught at the Corcoran College of Art and Design, Towson University and American University. Latiano is both thrilled and proud to serve as the first Bunting Teaching Fellow in Fine Arts at MICA.
Jonathan Latiano currently resides and maintains a studio in Baltimore, Md.
