Amy Peterson (fiction, non-fiction)

Amy Peterson has been teaching in the Master of Arts in Art Education (MAAE) program since 2010.

From 2006 until 2013, she also taught in MICA’s Humanistic Studies department. During her tenure as a mentor in the MAAE program, many of her students have had their writing successfully published in peer-reviewed art education journals.

Amy holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York and a BA in Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her writing has appeared in a myriad of publications, including Modern Painters, Poets & Writers, MoMA Ps1 Young Architects Program publications, The Brooklyn Review,  and The Center for Digital Storytelling, among others. She has received writing fellowships from the Sacatar Foundation in Bahia, Brazil; Fundacion Valparaiso in Almeria, Spain; The Julia and David White Artists Colony in Ciudad Colon, Costa Rica; and the Ucross Foundation in Ucross, Wyoming.

 In addition to teaching and writing, Amy develops and edits language arts curriculum. She currently lives in New York.
