I started at MICA in 2008 as senior writer and editor, a position I still hold today.  In addition to writing for everything from Velocity and Commotion to admission materials and the College’s website, I manage a stable of freelance writers and editors. Because my work includes meeting, interviewing and telling the amazing stories of MICA’s artists and designers — something that is in turns illuminating, fun and inspiring — I consider myself the luckiest person on campus.

My career in communications can be summed up through a series of acronyms. Before coming to MICA, I spent seven years developing online content for the former School for Professional Studies in Business and Education (SPSBE) at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). Prior to that, I managed print and electronic projects in the corporate communications office of Lockheed Martin Global Telecommunications (LMGT) and worked as public relations manager for Louisiana Travel Promotion Association (LTPA).

A native of Louisiana, I earned a B.A. in Journalism with a concentration in News-Editorial from Louisiana State University. When I’m not at MICA, my days are spent renovating my 120 or so year old home, spending time outdoors with my husband, two sons and Bernese Mountain Dog, and, during fall, watching college football.
