Dr. Kinney, as the Associate Vice President of Student Health and Wellness, oversees all campus-related student wellness departments including the Student Counseling Center, Student Health Services, MICA Fitness /Health Promotion Educator, and the Student Development Specialist. In this role, Dr. Kinney and her team seek to promote a holistic and integrative Wellness Model focused on eight (8) areas of student well-being. Such an integrative model aligns with the College's commitment to building a culture of care for all MICA students prioritizing students' academic success alongside their social, emotional, physical, occupational, spiritual, sexual, and environmental functioning.
Dr. Kinney is a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of student-related experience and a commitment to supporting the development and growth of emerging adults. Dr. Kinney received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the American University, her M.A. from the former Loyola College in Maryland also in Clinical Psychology and her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Virginia.
