The Charles James Fox Building is home to two large exhibition spaces, Decker Gallery and Meyerhoff Gallery, as well as exhibition spaces on the second and third floors. Fox Building also includes a wood shop, ceramics facilities, and studio space, as well as the Office of Exhibitions. Café Doris, which is located on the first floor and named for alumna Doris Rief ’86, serves light fare to students and community members.
Originally the Cannon Shoe Factory, the Fox Building is named for Charles James Fox '1884, alumnus and grandfather of Al Decker, Jr, CEO of Black & Decker company. Decker served as honorary chairman of the capital campaign that raised funds to purchase and renovate the building. Decker's mother, Fanny Fox Decker '1904, was an alumna and large donor to the College.
